Details

Kos is a small Greek island located just 12 miles away from the coastline of Bodrum. It is close enough for a day trip. Fast hydrofoil boat leaves from Bodrum at 9:00 am and it takes just 20 minutes to reach the Greek island of Kos. Enjoy a day of free time to explore this cozy island on your own. Walk through the picturesque streets of Kos with beautiful buildings, cafes and shops in Grecian style. There are so many historical sights and ancient ruins to explore: 14th century Castle of the Knights, numerous temples, mosaics, amphitheatre, acropolis, Roman baths, etc. The major attraction of the island is Asklepion - one of the largest and oldest healing centers of the ancient world.

Kos is also a birthplace of Hippocrates, the father of medicine. Just behind the castle there is a famous tree of Hippocrates. According to the legend Hippocrates taught his students the art of medicine under the shadow of this plane tree. After exploring the sights of Kos, relax on the warm sandy beaches and enjoy calm waters of the Aegean sea. The island offers great dining and shopping opportunities as well.

Be sure to come back to the harbour before the departure time (4:00 pm). Then take a place on board of hydrofoil and sail back to Bodrum. A day trip to the Greek island of Kos will be an excellent addition to your holiday.
